As one of the four domains defined in the Elder Justice Road Map, the Practice Domain provides technical assistance tools to the public and professionals, innovative approaches and national resources to aid in the provision of direct services. | |
| Under the Practice Domain the NCEA provides technical assistance support to individuals and professional seeking information about
elder abuse. From March through August 2016, the NCEA team responded to approximately 341 inquiries and connected individuals to elder abuse resources, research and general information. |
Community and Professional Engagement The NCEA disseminated materials at several conferences and annual meetings in recent months including the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging, the National Adult Protective
Services Association Annual Conference, and the Judith D. Tamkin Symposium on Elder Abuse. The NCEA also provides educational presentations for professionals and community groups to raise awareness about elder abuse prevention, detection and intervention. To request NCEA presentation materials that can be adapted for your group email NCEA@med.usc.edu.
State Level Engagement The NCEA is working to ensure each state is supported
in their efforts to combat elder abuse. As part of this effort, the NCEA cultivated participation from every state in the union for our last World Elder Abuse Awareness Day on June 15, 2016.
If you are a part of a state effort to raise elder abuse awareness and would like more information about NCEA materials available to you, email NCEA@med.usc.edu
